Gratitude*Sunday

{Sunday's heartfelt tradition. A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitudes.}

This week I am stopping to be grateful for…

*Sunny days! We've been outside, the lawn is mowed, the windows have been open and airing out the house. We've even been working on riding bikes!

*New music on the kids iPod and their awesome taste in music. Lady Gaga, The Grateful Dead, Johnny Cash, Frank Sinatra… They have dance parties to all of it.

*Show Tune Sunday. Brother-Bug has declared that Sunday is show tune day. It's not hard to support that. We've been pulling out the old greats like Oliver! and new favorites like Wicked. It's fun.

*Our mid-wife, who was available to help me with some necessary first-aid this week. Brother-Bug got a deep gash (the story is not exciting at all…we need to make up a better one) and she saved me a trip to urgent care. Instead we hung out, talked, treated my son, fed the kids pasta…

*Brother-Bug's relaxed willingness to get care for his head, and his sense of humor. When he saw the gash he remarked that his head looked like a jelly donut. He cracks me up. His head is healing up just fine.

*A work schedule that gives Papa-Bug every other Friday off. It's nice to have frequent three-day weekends.

*A gorgeous sunset that took our breath away.

*Other homeschooling families who operate on a similar wavelength. I need the socialization as much, or more, than the kids do…

*Hot, black tea every morning.

*Fun in the kitchen. I've tried a couple of new cooking projects this week – just little things – and had great results.

*Sister-Bug doing hard work to really get that alphabet in her head. She so wants to read like her big brother!

*Watching 'Ferris Bueler's Day Off' with Papa-Bug while we folded laundry.

*My kids' faces. Always.

*Wonderful hand-me-downs from a friend for Baby-Bug.

*First hair dye – a purple streak for Sister-Bug! She's rocking it.

*And brownies ready to come out of the oven. The house smells of chocolate.

This comes from a tradition of Gratitude over at WoolyMossRoots. I'm trying to be as consistent as Taryn is, and I love it when I actually get around to it!
